Scarface Says His Suicide Attempts Were Him Seeking Attention

Scarface Says His Suicide Attempts Were Him Seeking Attention

best verses 2014 scarface
Scarface is one of the best writers to ever grace the world of hip-hop. A pioneer for both the South and the genre writ large, the Houston legend has an unimpeachable catalog built on his gift for narrative and his ability to communicate paranoia and self-doubt (see “Mind Playing Tricks on Me“). Now, he’s turning his pen to a new medium. Next week, on April 21, Scarface is releasing a memoir, Diary of a Madman: The Geto Boys, Life, Death, and the Roots of Southern Rap. Written with Benjamin Meadows-Ingram, the founder of Brooklyn Bound, the memoir is strikingly candid. In particular, Face gets into the details of the spotty mental health with which he struggled in his younger days. Interestingly, he says that he believes his repeated suicide attempts were ultimately cries for attention. He writes:
“Looking back, I think I just wanted the attention. I see that now. But back then, I felt like attention was the last thing I wanted. I wouldn’t have been able to tell you if it was any one specific thing that had pushed me to that point. I just know that I was mad. Mad and sad. I felt like no one wanted me. My daddy was dead, and my mama didn’t want me. I didn’t really get along with my stepdad, and my grandma already had nine kids of her own, so there wasn’t really a place for me at her house either. I felt like I couldn’t do shit right, and the only way I could get any attention was by fucking up. No one would come watch me play football or check out my baseball games or any shit like that, but as soon as I popped some kid in the face or busted somebody’s head open in class, everyone was there, telling me I was fucked up for what I’d done, trying to take away my privileges and shit like that. That was the attention I was getting: for being a fucked up.”
Ultimately, Scarface has come to a place of resolve. Confident in his ability to now persevere, he writes, “If you really
want to go, dying is the easy part. It’s the living that’s hard. That shit takes a lifetime. And it will test you every step of the way. ”

Kim K and West Family Style

Kim Kardashian Says North West Already Has Her Own Sense of Style

"She's really particular about what she likes to wear, she's such a girlie girl," Kim Kardashian revealed in a new interview with Vogue. "Every day she wakes up and says 'shoes.' You have to bargain with her-before you change her diaper she needs a pair of shoes on."

Hey, if we had North's shoe collection, we'd want to flaunt that footwear, too!

Kim also said that North loves handbags, adding that she basically loves "anything where there's a little bit of glitz," although even a blinged-out headband might not go over too well with Nori. "She hasn't been the biggest fan of keeping something on her head," Kim confesses.

Hopefully the mini fashionista approves of the new collection her mom created for Kardashian Kids, which launches on Nordstrom.com on April 13. If we're lucky, maybe we'll even get to see her modeling some of the clothes!
When we first heard those rumors about Kim Kardashian's daughter North West having a stylist, we weren't surprised at all. That kid is more stylish than most adults we know. Plus, her parents are so into fashion, it seemed to make perfect sense.

Turns out, it didn't make perfect sense to her super stylish mom. Not yet, at least. In a new interview with E! News, Kim said she'd seen the story, too, but it isn't true.

"I read somewhere online we have a stylist, and it's planned for months. No," she explained. "That Givenchy little lace dress, they literally were sewing it on her that day. We came up with it two seconds before," she said of North's sheer black dress (above) that got a ton of attention in Paris.

Well, someone is good when they're put on the spot then because that dress was super cute.

Depending on who you ask, daytime TV is either the cornerstone or the downfall of modern civilization. Trashy TV shows, talk shows, and sports and news reporters provide hours of entertainment for the unemployed, housewives and college students playing hooky. While most of the programming can be mind-numbing, every now and then you luck into an amazing segment while channel surfing.
On a recent episode of Divorce Court, a man accused his wife of sleeping with the entire Wu-Tang Clan after she attended a Wu concert and didn’t return until 7 AM the next morning.
“She gave Wu some Tang,” said the pissed off man.
The woman defended herself, calling the Wu members “gentlemen” and that she is not a “bust down” or a “groupie.”
“Let me put on the record that the Wu-Tang is nothing but gentlemen,” said the Defendant. “They treated me highly respectful and I would never cheat on him. Also…I don’t know if this is appropriate to say, but I would never be like a bust down or a groupie in that type of situation. I kept my lady points together…I met Wu-Tang, I went back stage and got on their tour bus, I went back to the hotel and hung out all night. It was amazing!”
The wonders of daytime television.
